My name is Robb, and I am a husband, a father to three, and an ordained Lutheran pastor.
I’veĀ blogged at “Idle Ramblings of the LutherPunk” since 2005. That blog is primarily about matters related to life in the church and interplay between religion and culture. During the sickening long election season that culminated in the 2008 elections that blog moved away from primarily being about theology and began to focus a bit more on political interests. At first I thought I would stop theological blogging all together, but decided I would rather keep “Idle Ramblings” as my theology/church blog and use this blog to focus on my interests in radical politics, the pursuit of self-sufficiency, and the desire to transform our otherwise pedestrian suburban home into a suburban homestead and center for resistance of a soul-destroying consumer culture.

Right On! I want to sing “Onward Christian Soldier” – even though I hate the hymn.
There is a theology of place. Maybe one gift of the Spirit this whole energy mess will bring is a renewed (new) interest in Social Capital as not only a Christian Virtue but as a Christian Imperative.

Well, grampa, you’d fit right in an ELCA church, where that hymn has been removed from the hymnal…
There is a theology of place, of stability, of commitment. I wish I had realized this years ago.
